'Twas The Week Before Year End

‘Twas the week before year end, when all through the office the sales phones were ringing.

The quotes were emailed, hung in the CRM system with care, in hopes that lots of orders would soon would be there.

The finance department were nestled all snug at their desks, while visions of big invoices danced in their heads. And support at their computers and operations at their screens, had just settled down for a long week of fulfillment. When on our website there arose such a clatter,
we sprang from our phones to see what was the matter.

Away to the reports we flew like a flash, tore open the details and hung onto the phones. The aura of sales gave the luster of excitement to forecasts galore. When, what to our wondering eyes should appear, but a pile of prospects, and three new promotions. With new sales discounts, so lively and quick, we knew in a moment it must be year end.

More rapid than eagles our quotes they came. And we whistled, and shouted, and called buyers by name!"Now David! now, Adam! now, Stacey and Victoria! On, Cody! On, Catherine! On Dexter and Brian! To the top of the forecast! To the top of the agreements!

Now order away! Order away! Order away all!"Up to the bargaining table the champions they flew with computers full of business cases, and a reference or two. And then, in a twinkling, we heard on the phone lines
the dancing and negotiation of each new purchasing agent.

As we dialed our phones, and were turning around deals came with a bound. They were dressed all in discounts, from promotions to specials,
and our sales reps were all exhausted with long days and forecast reviews.

A bundle of buyers we had flung in our systems, and we looked to marketing staff, supplying the leads. Our eyes-how they twinkled! The phone calls so cherry! The quotes were like dollar signs, our excitement so merry!

Like detectives we searched for inbound leads all drawn up like a bow,
as our visions of sales club teased pricing below. The pile of contracts held tight in our hands, and the image of sales commissions hung on our heads like a wreath.
We had high hopes and a hunger for more that stood out when we called, like a powerful force!

We were hopeful and anxious, a right jolly old sales staff,. And we mixed it up with our competition, in spite of ourselves!
A wink of purchasing eye and a twist of the pen
soon gave us to know we had nothing to dread.

We spoke not a word, but went straight to our desks. We filled all the orders, then turned with a wave, laying forecasts aside of our phones,
gave a thumbs up, away to celebrate we rose!

We sprang to our teams, to our peers gave a cheer. And away the orders thundered like the rumble of gears. When we clapped and we cheered across the office we sang,

Happy sales to all, and to all a good-year!"
